How Will Fleet Management Benefit Me?
Vehicle fleet costs, whilst not being the headline cost centre in a business, are an area where a professional fleet manager can make a significant impact.
The problem is that for many companies who operate small to medium sized fleets, the cost of employing a skilled and experienced professional to manage their fleet is out of the question. It just doesn’t make financial sense. The temptation is for a senior manager or a director to take on the responsibility selecting repairers, negotiating with suppliers and keeping up to date with duty of care legislation. Doing the best they can, often without the training, scale, time or access to the technical information required to make savings equal to the value of the time they spend on it.
This approach can soon amount to little more than fire fighting. It often eats up progressively more and more time as it becomes increasingly inefficient without delivering improvements in service or cost reduction.
